Tennis & Pickleball

The Racquet Club of Hattiesburg has eight hard tennis courts, three clay tennis courts, and four clay pickleball courts available for member use. As a private facility, only members or their invited guests may use the courts. Court reservations may be made by members through the ReserveMyCourt online court scheduling software. All guests need to be checked in at the clubhouse prior to play on the courts. Please follow all RCH Tennis & Pickleball Rules. 

Extra duty felt tennis balls are recommended for our hard tennis courts and regular duty felt tennis balls are recommended for our clay courts. Due to our pickleball courts being clay, it is recommended that players use outdoor pickleballs to get the best bounce, specifically Onix Pure 2 outdoor pickleballs. These are available for purchase in the RCH pro shop, or are available from online retailers and other tennis/sports shops in the Pine Belt area. Players should bring their own racquets and paddles for play.

New Concrete Pickleball Courts!

The pickleball committee has worked diligently to solicit bids for the eight new concrete pickleball courts (replacing the current clay pickleball courts and another clay court) and has obtained a mockup of what the new courts will look like! The board expects that the contractor could break ground on the new courts as early as January 2025 and that the courts will be completed some time in the Spring--this is an exciting time to be a member at RCH! These courts will be reservable through the ReserveMyCourt system.

Tennis Professional 

Christer Olsson, RCH Tennis Professional, is originally from Stockholm Sweden where he played juniors until coming to the United States. He played singles and doubles for the nationally ranked Belhaven College from 1989 - 1991 NAIA ranking #5. He became USPTA Certified in 1991 and Cardio Tennis licensed in 2012. He has worked in the tennis industry for many years, and is very passionate about the growth of the game. He has coached several top ranked juniors at the state and sectional level. Olsson has played on several state championship teams in Mississippi at the 5.0 level. He enjoys bringing his passion for the game to The Racquet Club of Hattiesburg.

Tennis Lessons

Racquet Stringing 

Christer Olsson offers racquet stringing services to both members and nonmembers. Babolat, Luxilon, Technifibre, Wilson, and Dunlop strings are regularly available, or, the player may provide his or her own string.

Stringing: $25 - $35 

String job only: $15.00
